Georgia school closings and delays for Monday

0

GEORGIA — Several school systems in north Georgia will operate on altered schedules early this week as districts respond to winter weather concerns, with changes affecting both Monday and Tuesday.

For Monday, December 15, 2025, multiple school systems announced delayed starts. Catoosa County Schools will open two hours late, as will Chickamauga City Schools, Dade County Schools, and Walker County Schools.

The delays are intended to allow additional time for conditions to improve and for crews to assess bus routes before students travel to school.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, additional schedule changes are planned. Fannin County Schools and Towns County Schools will shift to virtual learning for the day, with students completing coursework remotely. Gilmer County Schools will operate on a one-hour delay Tuesday morning.

Families are encouraged to monitor official school communications for updates, particularly regarding transportation and after-school activities, as weather conditions and road safety will continue to be evaluated.
