NORTH CAROLINA — A traffic stop in Kinston led to the arrest of a fugitive from Georgia and the discovery of crack cocaine hidden on his body, according to the Kinston Police Department.
Officers with C-Squad pulled over a vehicle around 2:12 p.m. on Dec. 7 on East Highland Avenue after noticing an open container of alcohol inside.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Darnell Foster, was taken into custody when officers learned he was wanted by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia for a probation violation.
Police said Foster was transported to the Lenoir County Jail. Upon arrival, he admitted to concealing crack cocaine on his person. The narcotics were recovered, and Foster was booked into jail under a secured bond.
He is charged with an out-of-state fugitive warrant, felony possession of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. The investigation is ongoing.
