OHIO — American Freight, a furniture company with around a dozen stores in Northeast Ohio, will close all its locations following the bankruptcy filing of its parent company, Franchise Group.
Court documents filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware indicate that all American Freight locations will permanently close.
Franchise Group, which also owns Buddy’s Home Furnishings, Pet Supplies Plus, and The Vitamin Shoppe, announced it will now focus on these three businesses.
Franchise Group’s president and CEO, Andrew Laurence, confirmed the shift in strategy.
American Freight’s website lists approximately twelve stores across Northeast Ohio.
Closing sales are expected to start on November 5.

When they delivered it, it was m aoing a.huge loud clunking noise. I called them immediately to only be told that it was a closeout n there for they could not honor their warranty that we had bought. They did say we could come get whatever product(s) we wanted for the total price we spent. However when we went back there that refused to what they said
