FLORIDA — Two students and two drivers were hospitalized Thursday morning after a school bus collided with an SUV.

The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. at 43rd Street and Hanna Avenue. The bus was carrying 29 students at the time of the accident.

Tampa police said the driver of a Dodge Durango may have experienced a medical episode, causing the vehicle to veer in front of the bus and strike its front driver’s side.

Two students sustained minor injuries, and the bus driver was also treated for minor injuries. The SUV driver suffered a broken leg and other injuries and is in critical but stable condition.

Most of the students were taken to school, where counseling services were made available, while others were sent home.
