FLORIDA — Four people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a scaffolding collapse in West Palm Beach on Thursday morning, authorities said.
West Palm Beach Fire Rescue and the West Palm Beach Police Department responded to the incident around 7:10 a.m. near Lakeview Avenue and Dixie Highway. Emergency crews arrived to find multiple injured individuals after the structure gave way at a construction site.
Officials said all four victims were transported to the hospital and are reported to be in critical condition.
The collapse also prompted road closures in the area, with portions of Lakeview Avenue and nearby routes shut down as first responders worked at the scene. Traffic delays were reported along Dixie Highway and surrounding streets.
The cause of the scaffolding collapse remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to the incident.
