OHIO — Four people were killed and two others injured in a crash on U.S. Route 24 in Paulding County on Friday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before 9:15 p.m. near Mile Post 15 when a semi-truck traveling eastbound went off the left side of the road, crossed the median, and struck an SUV head-on.
The semi-truck was driven by 72-year-old Gary Woods of Clio, Michigan. Inside the SUV were five occupants, all from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Four of them, ages 35, 40, 21, and 3, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 14-year-old passenger was airlifted to the hospital with minor injuries.
Woods sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
