
OHIO — Four individuals are facing drug-related charges following two separate search warrants executed in Jefferson County.
On Tuesday, February 25, the Jefferson County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Jefferson County Special Response Team, the Steubenville Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, carried out a search warrant at a residence on Garrett Avenue in Steubenville.
During the search, authorities seized 29 grams of crack cocaine. Logan Smith, 21, of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested and booked at the Justice Center on drug possession charges.
He is set to appear in Steubenville Municipal Court.
Also present was Golden Dawson, 23, of Steubenville, who will face similar drug possession charges in the same court.
The following day, February 26, detectives executed another search warrant on Scott Street in the Lewis Addition subdivision of Steubenville.
This operation led to the arrest of Brian Benton, 42, of Steubenville, after officers discovered and seized 60 grams of methamphetamine in his home.
Benton was transported to the Justice Center and is scheduled to appear in District 1 Toronto County Court on drug possession charges.
Additionally, 23-year-old Mary Baker is facing pending drug possession charges and will appear in District 1 Toronto County Court once formal charges are filed.
So far in 2025, the Drug Task Force has executed eight search warrants, leading to the seizure of 545 grams of narcotics.
The task force includes members from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Steubenville Police Department, and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.
