OHIO — The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit executed two separate search warrants related to drug activity this week, resulting in multiple arrests.
The first search warrant was carried out at a residence on Woods Road in Bridgeport.
Detectives reported finding several individuals inside the home, along with drugs and drug abuse instruments.
Authorities arrested 40-year-old Michael Malone, the homeowner, on charges of drug possession and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Also arrested was 20-year-old Jerzi Richards, who had outstanding failure to appear warrants in both Belmont and Jefferson counties.
A second search warrant was executed on Clinton Street in Martins Ferry. During that operation, detectives said they seized a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and made additional arrests.
Ronald Hickman, 31, and Leaona Kellwood, 39, were taken into custody on charges of drug trafficking and drug possession.
Detectives say more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
