
NORTH CAROLINA — A joint law enforcement operation led by the Asheville Police Department resulted in four arrests and the seizure of drugs and firearms, according to a department news release.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 4, was launched in response to community concerns about illegal drug activity and gun violence.
Police said the investigation led to the arrests of Kuron Christopher Grant, 23; Sadiq Mafia Devoe Jones, 23; Michael Anthony Tate, 65; and a juvenile. Officers also seized 26.91 grams of crack cocaine and seven firearms, including an AK-47 rifle and a Glock pistol equipped with a switch.
Grant was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, four felony probation violations, and four misdemeanor counts of second-degree trespassing. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $39,000 secured bond.
Jones was taken into custody on a federal warrant and booked without bond. Tate was charged with felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances and is being held on a $5,000 secured bond.
The juvenile’s charges were not released.
