KENTUCKY — Four people were arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Laurel County on Friday, according to authorities.
Members of Laurel County’s drug interdiction unit stopped a white Ford Fusion on Interstate 75 about nine miles south of London after observing the vehicle weaving on the roadway.
During the stop, officers found the driver in possession of suspected Loracet. Investigators said the three passengers were found with a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside a yellow stuffed animal. All four occupants denied knowledge or ownership of the methamphetamine, authorities said.
The driver, Gilbert Michael Flores Jr., 54, of Corbin, was charged with careless driving, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), having prescription controlled substances not in their proper container, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Passengers Angela Myra Smith, 44, of Williamsburg; Milford Osborne, 52, of Woodbine; and Donna Mazon, 59, of Corbin, were each charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All four were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
