
INDIANA — Four people were arrested and face multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Indiana State Police on Interstate 69.
According to police, the stop occurred Friday shortly after 11:30 a.m. near the 270-mile marker on I-69, when an ISP senior trooper initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. While speaking with the driver, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The occupants were identified as Jamir Dangerfield, 19, of Lincoln, Illinois; Leighanna Allbritton, 19, of Normal, Illinois; Aerius Crenshaw, 18, of Normal, Illinois; and a juvenile.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers recovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine, 46 grams of cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, 34 grams of fentanyl, four grams of heroin, and 38 grams of other controlled substances. Police also reported recovering firearms and drug paraphernalia.
Each of the four individuals is preliminarily charged with dealing in methamphetamine and dealing in cocaine, both Level 2 felonies; possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, both Level 3 felonies; dealing in a controlled substance, a Level 5 felony; dealing in marijuana, a Level 6 felony; possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Dangerfield, Allbritton, and Crenshaw were taken into custody and transported to the Grant County Jail. The juvenile was transported to the Muncie Juvenile Detention Center.
All charges are preliminary, and the case remains under investigation.
