FLORIDA — A long-term drug investigation by Sanford Police ended July 8 with the execution of a search warrant and the arrest of four individuals connected to illegal drug activity at a residence on Grove Drive.
The investigation began after community members reported suspicious behavior and overdose incidents linked to the home.
Sanford Police, with help from the Neighborhood Response Unit, obtained a search warrant and recovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia during the operation.
Those arrested include:
- Adrian Hodges, 53, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of psilocybin, possession of alprazolam, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Vanessa Garcia, 34, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Angela Mawby, 42, taken into custody on an active warrant for failure to appear on a felony petit theft charge.
- Bonnie Smith, 55, arrested on two warrants for probation violations related to previous methamphetamine and cocaine possession charges.
The Sanford Police Department credited the operation’s success to strong cooperation between investigators and the community, urging residents to continue reporting suspicious activity.
“This case is a clear example of how community involvement and proactive policing can reduce illegal activity and make our neighborhoods safer,” the department said in a statement.
