GEORGIA — A routine traffic stop involving a recreational vehicle led to a drug investigation and multiple arrests in Irwin County, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Irwin County Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop on March 25. After suspecting possible drug activity, deputies requested assistance from the South-Central Drug Task Force and a K-9 unit from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said a probable-cause search of the RV led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Four people were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Authorities said three of the suspects also had active warrants, and one was additionally charged with providing a false name to law enforcement.
As part of the investigation, officials executed a search warrant at a residence connected to the case. Deputies reported finding additional methamphetamine and items related to drug distribution inside the home.
In a statement, the South-Central Drug Task Force said, “If you’re bringing drugs into Irwin County or moving them through it — expect to be stopped.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
