TENNESSEE — Four juveniles were taken into custody early Wednesday morning after a stolen vehicle crashed into a home in La Vergne, according to police.
Officers responded around 1:45 a.m. to a report of a stolen vehicle on Jennifer Pierce Drive.
The vehicle, a Kia Soul, was later located near Dick Buchanan Street. Police said the driver fled from officers before crashing into a home on George Buchanan Drive.
According to the La Vergne Police Department, the four juvenile suspects ran from the crash scene but were quickly located and apprehended through coordinated efforts by patrol officers and K-9 teams.
The suspects reportedly admitted to stealing the Kia and to being involved in multiple vehicle burglaries in the area. All four were taken to a hospital for medical clearance before being transported to the Rutherford Juvenile Center.
“This incident highlights the quick response, coordination, and dedication of our team to public safety. Great work by Officers Brewer, Chang, Scott, Sgt. Woodard, Sgt. Darby, and K-9 FTO Cunningham,” the department said in a statement.
Police also reminded residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and report any suspicious activity.
No additional information was immediately released.
