
FLORIDA — Two men from Pensacola are facing federal charges related to the unlawful distribution of prescription drugs, according to federal officials.
In a news release, the U.S. Department of Justice said 47-year-old Douglas Craig Reid Jr., a Pensacola pharmacist, and 47-year-old Martrice Lamar Portis have been charged with conspiracy to unlawfully dispense and distribute controlled substances, as well as obtaining controlled substances by fraud.
Federal prosecutors said the trial for both men is scheduled to begin March 2.
If convicted, each man faces a maximum possible sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison.
