Five people arrested in connection to burglary ring in Ohio

OHIO — Five people were arrested Thursday after police uncovered what they believe may be a burglary ring targeting homes in Butler County.

According to a spokesperson for the West Chester Police Department, officers worked with the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office after learning that a home in the Beckett Ridge neighborhood was a potential burglary target.

Police said investigators received information indicating the suspects were specifically focusing on Asian American business owners. Detectives conducted surveillance and identified four male suspects who were allegedly preparing to carry out a burglary.

One suspect was arrested at the scene and cooperated with officers. A second suspect attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody by detectives, police said. Two additional suspects left the area in separate vehicles. Officers stopped one of those suspects during a nearby traffic stop and arrested him.

The second vehicle led officers on a brief chase before it was stopped at Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Guard Street, where the suspect was arrested. A fifth suspect, identified as a woman, was later arrested in Indiana.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as the case progresses.
