Five people arrested following drug bust in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — Five people were arrested on drug-related charges in Darlington County following three unrelated traffic stops during the holiday week, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Michael August said the arrests stemmed from enforcement activity in the Lamar and Hartsville areas.

Timothy Flowers was arrested Sunday after deputies stopped his vehicle in the Lamar area for a window tint violation. Deputies said they discovered 2.88 grams of fentanyl during the stop. Flowers was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and later released from the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center after posting a $25,000 bond.

On Friday, deputies conducted another traffic stop in the Lamar area that resulted in the arrests of William Bird, Brandon Hall, and Coty Lee. According to the sheriff’s office, Bird was found in possession of 17.54 grams of marijuana and a handgun. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm and was released after posting bonds totaling $8,000.

Hall was found with 2.77 grams of methamphetamine and charged with possession with intent to distribute meth. As of Monday morning, he remained in jail on a $25,000 bond. Lee was found with 42.65 grams of methamphetamine, 7.89 grams of cocaine, and 17.6 grams of marijuana.

He was charged with trafficking meth or cocaine base between 28 and 100 grams, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Lee remained in jail Monday on bonds totaling $80,000.

In a separate incident on Christmas Day, Donna Nutter was arrested after deputies noticed her vehicle had a defective tag light while patrolling South Marquis Highway in the Hartsville area. Deputies said Nutter was found with 14.7 grams of methamphetamine and charged with trafficking meth or cocaine base between 10 and 28 grams. She remained in jail Monday on a $25,000 bond.

All cases remain pending in Darlington County courts.
