VIRGINIA — A 21-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he abducted his one-week-old child at gunpoint during a home invasion early Tuesday morning.

According to the Prince George County Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Aspen Court in the early hours of March 17.

Police said the suspect, identified as the child’s father, forced entry into the home by shooting through a glass door. He then allegedly took the infant from the mother at gunpoint and fled the scene.

Officers quickly located and stopped the suspect’s vehicle as it was leaving the neighborhood. Authorities recovered two semi-automatic pistols, including one reported stolen.

Police said the suspect was “extremely uncooperative” and resisted commands before being taken into custody.

The infant was evaluated by emergency responders and was not injured. The child was returned to the mother, and Child Protective Services was notified.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including abduction, burglary, child neglect, and several firearm-related offenses.

A second suspect is also facing charges in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
