NORTH CAROLINA — A five-month investigation by the Edgecombe County Narcotics Unit led to the arrest of Tony Maurice Dickens following a search of his residence on E. First Street on Thursday, September 25.

Detectives said Dickens was found hiding under a lumpy air mattress during the execution of a search warrant. Authorities seized approximately 50 bags of heroin, two grams of cocaine, and ammunition.

Dickens, who had an active warrant for second-degree forcible rape, was charged with multiple drug offenses, including several counts of selling and delivering cocaine, possession with intent to sell, and maintaining a dwelling to store controlled substances. He also faces charges for selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a park.

He was given no bond for the rape charge and a $200,000 secured bond for the drug charges. Dickens is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center.
