LOUISIANA — A 62-year-old man was arrested Thursday in Morgan City following a drug investigation, according to the Morgan City Police Department.
Police said investigators received tips alleging that Elliott Broussard had been selling illegal drugs in the Morgan City area. After conducting an investigation, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Broussard’s residence.
According to police, the home is located within 2,000 feet of a local church, placing it inside a posted drug-free zone.
During the search, officers reported finding approximately 346 grams of methamphetamine, 169 grams of marijuana, 20 grams of crack cocaine, and one gram of fentanyl. Police also said digital scales and drug packaging materials were recovered from the residence.
Broussard was arrested Thursday and charged with multiple drug-related offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
