Ohio State Highway Patrol

WOOD COUNTY — Over the weekend, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper from the Bowling Green Post pulled over a vehicle traveling at 136 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone on I-75 in Wood County.

The incident highlights the ongoing issue of excessive speeding on Ohio roadways.

Since 2019, there have been more than 169,000 speed-related crashes across the state, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities continue to urge drivers to stay safe and obey speed limits to help prevent accidents.

“Slow down and stay safe,” officials said in a message to the public.
