OHIO — A driver who slowed for ducks crossing the roadway triggered a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Darke County, authorities said.
Deputies and emergency crews responded to the 7600 block of U.S. Route 36 after receiving reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Josie Camacho of New Madison was traveling westbound when she slowed her Honda Civic for ducks in the road. Her vehicle was then rear-ended by a gray Ford F-350 driven by a 17-year-old from Bradford.
Investigators said the impact caused Camacho’s vehicle to spin into another lane, where it was struck by a Chrysler Town & Country driven by 66-year-old Timothy Doubledee of Bradford.
Camacho was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center. Doubledee was taken to Wayne HealthCare for treatment. The teenage driver was evaluated by emergency medical personnel and released at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
