OHIO — A driver is still on the run after leading Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase that ended in a crash early Friday morning.

According to troopers, the pursuit began around 2:37 a.m. when officers from the Medina Post attempted to stop a Volkswagen Atlas for speeding on I-71, just south of State Route 82 in Brunswick. The driver refused to stop and continued north on I-71, exiting at W. 130th Street in Cleveland.

From there, the driver entered I-90 but soon crashed into a concrete curb after exiting at West Boulevard. Troopers said the suspect then fled on foot.

Five passengers who remained inside the vehicle were released without charges, and no injuries were reported. Cleveland police and fire assisted at the scene.

The driver has not been located, and the case remains under investigation.
