ILLINOIS — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Kankakee County, including the cities of Bourbonnais, Kankakee, and Bradley, in effect from midnight Sunday night to noon Monday.
Residents are warned of dangerous travel conditions as lake effect snow is expected to produce snow rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, with localized accumulations of 6 to 10 inches plus possible.

The heaviest snow is expected near and east of Interstate 57. Untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick and hazardous.
“Lake effect snow is often very localized, with conditions varying from safe to dangerous across just a few miles,” the NWS said.

Officials advise motorists to consider delaying all travel. If travel is necessary, extreme caution is urged due to rapidly changing visibility and road conditions.
