Donuts sold in Ohio recalled due to listeria contamination

OHIO — More than 2 million cases of baked goods, including donuts and cake rings sold in Ohio, are being recalled nationwide due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, according to a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall, issued voluntarily by FGF, LLC of Brownsburg, Indiana, includes 60 different bakery products distributed across the United States and Canada.

Many of these products were sold in Ohio through grocery stores and retailers.

The FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning the affected products may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Listeria monocytogenes can pose serious risks, particularly to pregnant individuals, young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of infection include fever, headache, confusion, and seizures.

The recalled products were produced on or before December 13, 2024, and include a variety of donuts, fritters, crullers, and specialty pastries, including items from Dunkin’.

Ohio consumers who have purchased baked goods recently are encouraged to check packaging for product names and recall numbers.

A full list of recalled products is available on the FDA’s website.

Those who have purchased any of the recalled items should not consume them and should dispose of the products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

  • Wow kinda late to let people know. Most have been sick already and hopefully recovered. Get that quality control person back so these things don't happen.
