TENNESSEE — Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration raided a local pharmacy in Chattanooga to serve an immediate suspension order following a months-long investigation.
Authorities said agents will remain at A+ Pharmacy on Highway 58 throughout the day after the order halted the business from handling controlled substances.
Officials said the action follows an investigation that spanned several months, though specific details about the alleged violations have not yet been released.
“What we’ve uncovered in this investigation is nothing short of egregious,” said Special Agent in Charge Jim Scott, head of DEA’s Louisville Field Division. “The details of this case are disturbing and go well beyond regulatory infractions. When the allegations are made public, the community will be stunned.”
According to authorities, the pharmacy’s owners have 30 days to request a hearing to contest the suspension.
No further information about potential charges or additional enforcement actions has been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
