
GEORGIA — Police in Rome are investigating after a young child was shot Wednesday afternoon near a north Georgia park.
Officers were called to the John Graham Homes on East 13th Street near Banty Jones Park, according to authorities.
When officers arrived, they found a young boy who had been shot in the leg. The child was transported for medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition, though the severity of his injuries has not been disclosed.
Investigators have not released details about what led up to the shooting, and no information about potential suspects has been made public.
