
FLORIDA — A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred on Reams Road near Legado Drive. Investigators reported that a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling southbound on Reams Road when the child was walking in the roadway in an unknown direction.
According to FHP, the child was in the vehicle’s direct path, and the driver was unable to avoid the collision. The front of the SUV struck the child, causing serious injuries.
The driver, a 21-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, troopers said. The child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
