FLORIDA — A pregnant woman lost her baby following a crash in Pensacola earlier this week, and charges are pending against the driver believed to have caused the collision, according to police.
The crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of North 9th Avenue and Bayou Boulevard, according to a news release from the Pensacola Police Department.
Authorities say a vehicle traveling southbound on North 9th Avenue was speeding and failed to stop at a red light before striking another car on the driver’s side.
The second vehicle was being driven by a pregnant woman. She was transported to a local hospital, where it was later determined that her baby did not survive.
Police said charges are pending against the driver who allegedly ran the red light. The crash remains under investigation.
