Buc-ee’s to open location close to Maryland next week

MARYLAND — Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based travel center chain renowned for its expansive stores, clean restrooms, and diverse snack offerings, is set to open its first Virginia location on June 30, 2025.

The new facility, situated at 838 Friedens Church Road in Mount Crawford, Virginia, is conveniently located just off Interstate 81 at Exit 240, making it easily accessible for travelers from Maryland.

Spanning 74,000 square feet, the Virginia Buc-ee’s will feature 120 fueling stations, including 20 electric vehicle charging spots, and ample parking for over 600 vehicles.

Inside, visitors can expect a wide array of Buc-ee’s signature items, such as Texas-style barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries.

The store will operate 24/7, offering a variety of snacks, meals, and drinks, along with the brand’s renowned clean restrooms and affordable fuel.

The grand opening is scheduled for 6 a.m. on June 30, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. The event will include live music, free samples, and giveaways to celebrate the occasion.

This expansion marks Buc-ee’s first venture into Virginia and is expected to attract travelers along the busy I-81 corridor.

For those traveling from Maryland, the new Buc-ee’s is approximately a 2.5-hour drive from Baltimore, making it a convenient stop for road trips.

The location is also about two hours from Washington, D.C., and just under two hours from Richmond, Virginia.

Buc-ee’s has been a beloved brand across the South for over 40 years, known for its massive selection of food and retail goods, spotless restrooms, and friendly service.

The company expects the Harrisonburg location to attract both travelers on the I-81 corridor and curious visitors from nearby states.

With the opening of this new location, Buc-ee’s continues its expansion beyond Texas, bringing its unique travel center experience to a broader audience.
