VIRGINIA — Authorities in Brunswick County are investigating the suspicious death of a North Carolina man whose naked body was found along a roadside early Tuesday morning.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a body at 6:48 a.m. on April 29 in the 900 block of Boydton Plank Road, near the Brodnax area and the Mecklenburg County border.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the body of a naked man with no identification or personal belongings nearby.
Investigators believe the man died at a different location and was brought to the scene by an unknown person or persons.
Using fingerprint analysis, the man was identified as 52-year-old Bobby Dean Whitaker, reportedly from the Durham or Carthage area of North Carolina. His family has been notified.
