
LOUISIANA — Authorities are investigating after a decomposed body was discovered along a pipeline access road off Lobdell Highway on Monday afternoon, according to the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the body was found around 2:30 p.m. by a resident of the nearby Audubon Inn, who immediately alerted law enforcement.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the remains were significantly decomposed. Forensic entomologists from Louisiana State University, along with the State Police Crime Scene Unit, are assisting in the investigation.
No further details, including the identity of the deceased or possible cause of death, have been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
