SOUTH CAROLINA — A homicide investigation is underway in Spartanburg, South Carolina, after a body was discovered Thursday night.
According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Evelyn Drive just before 9 p.m. to conduct a welfare check. When deputies arrived at the residence, they found a deceased individual inside the home.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. Following an initial investigation, the sheriff’s office confirmed the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim, and no additional details about the circumstances surrounding the death were immediately available. Investigators said the case remains active, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
