OHIO — Authorities are asking for the public’s help after the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area in Van Wert County.
According to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a wooded area in Washington Township after receiving a report of a body.
Officials identified the man as Adam J. Purdy, 48, of Van Wert, using items found at the scene and other information. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach is asking anyone with information about Purdy’s recent activities to contact the sheriff’s office.
Tips can be submitted by phone or through the department’s website, and individuals may remain anonymous. Information can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is ongoing.
