TENNESSEE — An investigation is underway after a body was discovered within the town limits of Monteagle, according to local authorities.
The Monteagle Police Department said the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has been called in to assist with the case.
Officials have released limited information at this time and said more details will be provided as they are confirmed.
“We understand that this situation may cause concern among residents. We respectfully ask for patience and consideration as investigators work diligently to gather all relevant facts,” police said in a statement.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual or the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
