TENNESSEE — Authorities in Greene County are investigating after the body of a woman was found Tuesday on private property.
According to a release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the female’s body was discovered in the 5000 block off Lonesome Pine Trail. Deputies responded to the scene and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
“The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that a female’s deceased body was located and an investigation into the circumstances of her death is currently ongoing and under investigation,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
As of Thursday, officials reported that the woman’s next of kin had not yet been notified. The sheriff’s office did not release additional details, including the woman’s identity or the cause of death, citing the ongoing investigation.
