VIRGINIA — Authorities have launched a death investigation after a man’s body was discovered in the James River on Friday.
According to the Henrico County Police Division, first responders were called around 1:14 p.m. to the 5600 block of Old Osborne Turnpike for a reported medical emergency in the James River.
Police and Henrico Fire crews responded to the scene and located the body of a deceased adult male in the water.
Officials said the man’s identity has not yet been determined.
Detectives with the Henrico County Police Division’s Criminal Investigation Section are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
