NORTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered outside of Pembroke on Monday.
According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased person was found in the area of Melinda Road and Goins Road. Deputies, criminal investigation detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to begin examining the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said the investigation is ongoing. Officials have not released the identity of the deceased person or details about how the person died.
The sheriff’s office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
