
ALABAMA — Authorities are working to identify a woman whose body was found Tuesday afternoon in a creek near the Autauga and Dallas County line.
According to the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, railroad workers with Norfolk Southern discovered the body around 3:15 p.m. in Mulberry Creek. Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the body was that of an unidentified woman.
Investigators said the cause of death has not yet been determined, and the woman’s race has not been identified. Officials noted the location raises questions about where the woman may have entered the water.
Mulberry Creek runs through several counties, and authorities said the body could have traveled from Dallas, Chilton or Autauga County.
The case is being treated as a death investigation pending an autopsy and positive identification.
