ALABAMA — A body was discovered early Friday morning near train tracks on Smith Street, according to Mobile police.
In a news release, the Mobile Police Department said officers were called to the 7100 block of Smith Street around 3:15 a.m. after a body was reported in the area. When officers arrived, they found a male victim deceased near the railroad tracks.
Police said investigators believe the man may have been struck by a train, but the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are awaiting autopsy results before making a final determination.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
