FLORIDA — The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a body was found in the water near the Taylor Creek Spillway on Tuesday.
Deputies and members of the marine unit responded around 10:30 a.m. to the 1800 block of North U.S. Highway 1 following a report of a body floating in the water. Authorities recovered the body upon arrival.
The sheriff’s office said the deceased is a Black man with dreadlocks, and investigators are working to identify him.
