GEORGIA — The Chatham County Police Department is investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area off Chatham Parkway on Monday.
According to a department news release, officers were dispatched shortly before noon on December 1, 2025, after a passerby reported finding the body of an adult male near Ogeechee Road. Authorities said the man has not yet been positively identified.
An autopsy, scheduled for later this week, will determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Chatham County Police Department app or the department’s online tip form. Tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 912-234-2020, where callers may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
The department noted that it is the lead investigative agency and cautioned that information from other sources may not be accurate at this time.
