Bicyclist injured after being struck by vehicle in Ohio

OHIO — A bicyclist was seriously injured Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in southeast Columbus, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police said the crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Tussing Road, where an adult bicyclist was traveling westbound when they were hit by a silver or gold Chevrolet Malibu. The impact knocked the bicyclist to the ground.

Witnesses reported that the driver of the Chevrolet did not stop and fled the scene, heading eastbound on Tussing Road toward Pickerington, police said.

The injured bicyclist was transported to Mount Carmel East hospital, where they were being treated for serious injuries. The victim’s identity has not been released.
