TENNESSEE — A bicyclist was critically injured Tuesday morning after being struck by a semi-truck in Alcoa, authorities reported.
Alcoa police responded to the crash around 8 a.m. at the intersection of East Hunt Road and North Wright Road. Officials said the truck and the cyclist were traveling in the same direction when the collision occurred.
First responders, including police, fire, and AMR personnel, administered CPR at the scene. The cyclist was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical condition.
Police remain on the scene investigating, and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
