INDIANA — A bicyclist has died following a crash with a pickup truck Friday afternoon on Indianapolis’ east side, police said.
The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on August 22 in the 1500 block of South Sherman Drive, near Prospect Street. According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, the bicyclist was taken to a local hospital in stable condition but later died from his injuries.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 57-year-old Leander Church.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
IMPD’s fatal crash team is continuing to investigate the incident.
