VIRGINIA — A man has died after being struck by two vehicles early Monday morning in Chesterfield County, according to police.
Officers responded around 5:21 a.m. to the intersection of Newbys Bridge Road and Newbys Mill Drive for a reported crash.
According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, an adult male who had been riding a bicycle was found down in the roadway.
Authorities said a passerby stopped to check on the man when two vehicles traveling southbound on Newbys Bridge Road struck him.
The passerby was not injured but witnessed the incident.
Police said both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators.
The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officials have not released the victim’s identity.
