OHIO — An 83-year-old Cincinnati man has died from suspected hypothermia following a severe winter storm that brought heavy snowfall to southern Ohio earlier this week.
According to a report from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, neighbors discovered the man unresponsive and cold to the touch on his front porch Tuesday.
Acting quickly, they transported him to the Lincoln Heights substation, where emergency medical personnel provided life-saving care.
Despite their efforts, the man later died at the hospital.
The winter storm, which hit the region earlier this week, brought nearly 10 inches of snow to parts of the Miami Valley.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity, and his official cause of death remains under investigation.
Local officials are urging residents to check on elderly neighbors and loved ones during extreme weather conditions.
