FLORIDA — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier joined Grady Judd Friday morning in Winter Haven to announce the results of a large-scale drug trafficking investigation that resulted in 51 arrests.

During the press conference, officials said the multi-agency operation targeted individuals involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics in Polk County and surrounding areas. The investigation, which spanned several months, focused on dismantling organized drug networks believed to be responsible for distributing fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances.

Authorities said 51 people were taken into custody as a result of the operation. Law enforcement also seized quantities of illegal drugs and other evidence connected to the trafficking network.

Sheriff Judd described the arrests as a significant step in reducing the flow of dangerous narcotics into the community. Attorney General Uthmeier emphasized continued coordination between state and local agencies to combat drug-related crime.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible as cases move forward through the court system.
