$50,000 winning Powerball ticket sold in Ohio

OHIO — A Medina resident is celebrating after winning $50,000 in the Saturday, January 18 Powerball drawing.

The lucky ticket holder secured the third-tier prize by matching four of the five white numbers (14-31-35-64-69) plus the Powerball (23), with a Power Play multiplier of 2.

The winning ticket was purchased at Johnny Malloy’s, located at 1038 North Court St in Medina.

The winner utilized the lottery’s auto-pick option to randomly generate the numbers.

While the jackpot eluded players in the January drawing, Wednesday’s upcoming Powerball offers an estimated top prize of $195 million.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed over $33 billion to the state’s educational initiatives.
