NORTH CAROLINA — A Powerball ticket sold in North Carolina won $50,000 in Saturday night’s drawing, according to lottery officials.
The drawing was held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, and the winning numbers were 5, 8, 27, 49, 57, with a Powerball of 14. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 4x. The North Carolina ticket matched enough numbers to claim the $50,000 prize.
Lottery officials have not yet announced where in North Carolina the winning ticket was sold. Winners are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and contact the North Carolina Education Lottery to begin the claims process.
No ticket matched all six numbers, so the jackpot rolled over. The estimated jackpot for the next Powerball drawing now stands at $193 million, with a cash value of $87.9 million.
Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. North Carolina lottery officials remind players that prizes must be claimed within the timeframe established by state law.
